PROJECTS & TESTIMONIALS

More about John and his writing.

Writing has always been close to my heart. Only recently though have I been able to put pen to paper and make some very real progress. Fiction and Science Fiction are my first loves, with comedy following right up behind - especially dark comedies.

Writing very much takes one into oneself. It takes that to be able to get the thoughts down on paper to a point where, when anyone reads it, they can be drawn into the same place as you, the writer. As a new writer in this massively large arena, I have plenty to learn. I find it not only exciting but somewhat daunting at the same time.

My motivation for writing mainly comes from real life experiences and every day events. To make these worthy of reading can be a challenge at times. I always look forward to writing my next book, having a healthy list of titles keeps me writing every day.

Latest Projects

John's latest novel 'Blind Spot' a story of a Government secret agent finding herself at odds with the roles she has to play to keep her secret identity just that. Secret. The typical twists and turns of Government and the other controlling body, the Mafia meet head on once again. The action takes center stage on a global scale with San Diego, California being home base. This book stars Liz Sestito as one of the best Government agents to date. Will she survive the failings of her superiors who have been entrusted to keep her identity secret, not to mention her life. The book should be finished late July 2013.

'Lettuce Inn' A novel in progress as well, is about a food critic from the UK who stumbles across a unique and world class restaurant in the small town of Albufeira, Portugal. The strange goings on, and the over the top antics of the staff of this one of a kind restaurant will keep you on the edge. Anticipating even stranger and comical episodes with each following chapter. This read will definitely make you want to search out this eatery. If not for the strange and wonderful menu. At least for the expected unexpected.

The next novel to be written will be a book of short stories. The second of such books. The title at this point is 'Benchwarmer' a selection of more than twenty stories with a wide range of comical situations involving numerous kinds of individuals. Keep your eyes peeled for its release sometime in the new year.

Testimonials for 'Dead Next Tuesday'
"Starts slow but l soon got hooked with the main character Ed and found his escapades very amusing. Loved the book as it had a little bit of everything i.e humour, ethics, romance. It also gave 50 shades of grey a little competition! I loved the fact that what goes comes round. It was a surprising ending. A real feel good factor book. Well worth the read."

"I found this book a slow burner. It took me some time to get through the first few chapters, possibly because of the use of American English and the surprisingly fruity language! However, once the 'love interest' was introduced, I needed to find out how the story would unfold. The main characters were very human and identifiable, making it that much easier to care about them. A great ending too."

I have to admit this is not a book I would usually choose, but decided to give it a try as have read other excellent books from this publishing house. I was unsure about it in the first couple of chapters, but carried on thankfully and found it was a thoroughly entertaining read, which I did enjoy emmenseley. I didn't know which way the book was going to end, this meant my housework had to wait as I kept reading!

This book was recommended to me and once I picked it up, I literally couldn't put it down until I'd finished it which conveniently was during a holiday.

I found the journey with Ed (the main character) and his friends completely entertaining - funny, endearing and captivating. I found myself quickly warming to Ed's character, blushing on his behalf at his naivety clumsiness and initial lack of confidence in the various bumbling and hilarious situations he found himself in, in fact his character reminds me of a male Bridget Jones! A great, entertaining read with an unexpected ending that brought a smile to my face.
